Delicious food in Toledo. We had the steak, salmon, and chicken. All were great. I liked the appetizer with honey and cheese and garlic bread. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Even though it's in a strip mall, it's a very high end restaurant with plenty of parking and great food. Worth it!
While back in town visiting family and some old friends, we made a reservation for dinner on a Tuesday night at The Standard restaurant. There were three of us, and we were seated at one of the high tops near the kitchen. Our waitress was extremely kind and attentive without being overbearing. To start, my two friends ordered cocktails, while I ordered a glass of wine. I took a sip of each of their cocktails, and both were absolutely delicious. We decided to start with the whipped feta appetizer to share. It was divine - I could have easily eaten two orders of it. For our entrées, my friend and I decided to split the beet salad and then each get our own entree. The beet salad was tasty and actually quite filling. I ended up ordering a small fillet with sautéed mushrooms and onions. We also shared a side of cheddar grits and creamed corn. Everything was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the steak. Unfortunately, between the appetizer, salad and entrée, in addition to the side dishes, we had no room left for dessert. We ended up talking for quite some time, but we’re never rushed or pressured to vacate our table, which we appreciated.
Wow! What a wonderful experience! Loved loved loved all the food. The crab cakes were delicious! Our server was wonderful. All the staff were so friendly and nice! We ordered four appetizers and four entrees for the four of us. The quantity was a lot! We loved the sausages, the salmon, ribye.. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend this place. It was quite full on a Friday evening, suggest a reservation.
Great dinner with the wife and friends. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The smoked olive martini was . We ordered pretty much every appetizer and each one was unique and savory. I ordered the 20oz Ribeye blackened / medium rare on the bone. It was cooked perfectly and was extremely tender and juicy. The butter, roasted garlic, and truffle sauce made it even better. For dessert I ordered the sticky pudding with ice cream. Everyone else who tried at the table was surprised a pudding would taste so good. Would love to eat here again.
The server Jeffrey we had was arguably the best I’ve ever had. He was genuine, accommodating and very personal. He showed care as if he was part owner. The feta cheese sampler was really good and the drinks, as well as sides, were great. I wasn’t blown away by the lamb chops. I felt $39 was expensive for about 6 ounces of meat once you separate from bone, and my wife (who is the least pickiest eater) wasn’t thrilled with her entrée. I do feel that for price there are other restaurants I would rather go to, but the service made up for that.

I had such a great experience at The Standard! I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes, and it was cooked perfectly, so tender and flavorful. My friend had the garlic pasta with shrimp, and she loved it! We ended the meal with the banana cream brûlée, and wow… it was absolutely delicious. The vibe, the service, and the food were all on point. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Took the wife here for our anniversary… excellent choice. Start to finish great experience. Treated us to complementary champagne and a hand written happy anniversary card, very classy. Shoutout to James our server. House salad and Caesar salad with anchovies ( of course) were delicious. Chicken parm with vod sauce was next level, wife had the blackened shrimp and salmon. French fries were ordered as well. Very generous portions for the price point on the food. Only negative- Hand crafted cocktails pricey.
